Electoral Coins
IssueVoter has launched a campaign titled "The Electoral Coins" to highlight the antiquated practice of resolving electoral ties with a coin toss, which is still used in 40 states. This initiative underscores the importance of every vote, as the failure to vote can leave crucial decisions up to chance. To draw attention to this issue, IssueVoter, a nonpartisan, non-profit platform dedicated to empowering democratic participation, created a limited-edition coin collection called The Electoral Coins. These coins represent significant issues like gun laws, environmental policies, marijuana legalization, immigration, and book bans, which are too important to be decided by a coin flip. Available through donations, these coins serve as a collectible reminder of the power of each vote and aim to encourage voter participation by demonstrating the potential consequences of electoral ties.
