SUSTAIN:AR - PECULIAR WONDERS
SUSTAIN:AR is a virtual fashion that was launched on iOS App Store in January 2021. The show was created for VIA Design & Business and evolves on the concept of traditional catwalk shows through a virtual showcasing, democratising fashion universes to a much broader audience. One of the collections from this project is 'PECULIAR WONDERS' created by Danish Fashion Designer Louise Kristiansen, who presents both capsule and statement pieces derived from the bizarre and wonderful silhouettes from the 1930’s freak shows combined with an equally inspired use of materials; seeking to both honor and elevate those who were once looked ill upon. 'PECULIAR WONDERS' utilizes the concept of aesthetic sustainability by creating timeless and quality investment pieces, composed of materials from different sources – most of which originating from deadstock and upcycling.
