Family Roast
Australia's mental health system is stretched, yet one of the strongest supports people have is sitting at the dinner table: family. Research showed parents and kids both wanted deeper conversations about mental health, but neither knew how to begin. Family Roast is a guided question game built with mental health experts that leans on a very Australian truth, that banter is how people show they care. Forty questions move a family from light-hearted roasting into honest talk about life, relationships and wellbeing. It looks like game night rather than healthcare, comes as a physical card deck and a mobile-first digital version, and was launched with an unlikely host: Magda Szubanski's Sharon Strzelecki, given a family of her own to roast. More than 800,000 families played, 97% said their conversations became more meaningful, and the digital game sparked over 300,000 more.
