The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) has launched the national ‘Asian+American’ PSA campaign in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy New York to celebrate the complexity of Asian American identity and foster pride in being both Asian and American. At its core is a powerful 60-second film, Beyond, Together, directed by Academy Award–nominee Sean Wang and narrated by Sandra Oh, accompanied by striking photography from Jingyu Lin. Responding to data from TAAF’s 2025 STAATUS Index, which reveals a lack of belonging among young Asian Americans, the campaign challenges the pressure to choose between cultural identities. The work extends beyond media, with TAAF collaborating with Right To Be to launch a national bystander intervention training program to combat anti-Asian hate and foster community safety. The campaign is a bold cultural statement, reclaiming pride through food, language, names, and representation—amplifying voices across billboards, social platforms, and public spaces with the message that Asian Americans belong fully and proudly. Through the symbolic “+”, it reframes identity as expansive and intersectional, inviting all to share their own #AsianPlusAmerican stories.
