On 14 June 2017 Grenfell Tower started burning. And it continued for 60 hours straight. London – and the world – looked on in horror. For months, the media talked of little else. Justice4Grenfell, a community-led organisation, was set up to advocate for the victims and survivors. But as time passed, the event ebbed out of the news. This is how we used advertising to keep Justice4Grenfell’s demands at the top of the media agenda. The Problem Though the Grenfell Tower fire left 72 dead and 293 without a home, excruciatingly little justice has been achieved for the victims and survivors. We set out to keep Justice4Grenfell where it belongs: in the news. The Work A year after the fire, we took a leaf from the book of Oscar-winning movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and drove our own billboards across the capital. They read: “71 dead”, “And still no arrests?”, “How come?” Credits: CREATIVE - AGENCY: BBH - CREATIVE TEAM: Ben Edwards and Guy Hobbs - CREATIVE DIRECTOR: Remco Graham - HEAD OF PRODUCTION: Stephen Ledger-Thomas - DESIGN DIRECTOR: Rob Wilson - DESIGNER: Mark Taylor PRODUCTION - PRODUCTION COMPANY: Black Sheep Studios - ANIMATOR: Charlie Stewart - AUDIO POST PRODUCTION: String and Tins Ltd - SOUND DESIGNER/COMPOSER: Adam Smyth
