Glowing Relief
In response to Puerto Rico’s ageing population and frequent power blackouts, Alivia Health, owner of the island’s largest retail pharmacy Farmacias Plaza, launched Glowing Relief in March 2025. Developed in partnership with De la Cruz Ogilvy and Ogilvy Health, the initiative features medication labels that glow in the dark, helping patients clearly identify prescriptions during nighttime outages and reducing the risk of missed or incorrect doses. Using a non-toxic varnish, the labels glow for up to six hours—longer than the average blackout—and are produced using existing store printers, while Alivia Health’s home delivery network ensures access for patients in remote communities.
