Nur eine Bahnfahrt Entfernt
Nur eine Bahnfahrt Entfernt is a Deutsche Bahn travel-inspiration campaign for city breaks and day trips by ICE, and the first DB campaign whose films were generated entirely with Google's video model Veo. Five 20-second spots turn an ordinary ICE carriage into the destination itself, each one created with a DB tourism partner. In Bremen, the town musicians become a rock band playing between the seats; acrobats from Cirque du Soleil's ALIZÉ float weightlessly above the passengers; a Europa-Park roller coaster races down the aisle; a compartment turns into a cosy Frankfurt apple-wine tavern; and the roller-skating racers of Starlight Express tear through a neon-lit train, while elsewhere an ICE climbs straight up the facade of a skyscraper. The idea is that the journey and the anticipation already begin on board, and generative AI made it possible to stage scenes that a classic film production could hardly have shot, from impossible camera moves to fantastical worlds, without losing the warmth of real travel moments. Everything in the films, from the train to the people in it, was created with AI, then shaped through a full editorial, colour, VFX and sound finishing process. Every spot carries the line "Nur eine Bahnfahrt entfernt" (only a train ride away) and invites viewers to book the trip with DB's saver fares. The campaign launched on 18 May 2026 on YouTube, streaming platforms and social media, on digital out-of-home screens, and in DB travel centres and lounges.
