The Adventures of the Phillyboy
Kraft Heinz’s Philadelphia Cream Cheese has launched “Really Philly Good”, a new platform by Johannes Leonardo featuring the brand’s first-ever character, Phillyboy, designed to expand the product’s appeal beyond traditional spreads. Phillyboy, a cowboy riding a cow, embodies Philadelphia’s dairy heritage and versatility, showing how the cream cheese can elevate a wide range of dishes. The campaign, directed by Nick Gordon through Somesuch, includes 19 spots of varying lengths, plus TV, streaming, CTV, YouTube, social, audio, influencer content, and integrations with The Bachelorette and The New York Times. Subtle design details—from Phillyboy’s branded belt to his Spife utensil—reinforce the brand’s identity while presenting the mascot as warm, confident, and mission-driven. The platform also partners with Allrecipes to offer an AI-powered meal planning tool, positioning Phillyboy as a long-term creative vehicle to educate and inspire consumers to cook with Philadelphia in new ways.
