Become A Witness
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Canada, one of North America’s largest museums, launched its most extensive Holocaust exhibition ever, aiming to present this delicate subject with fresh artistic eyes. The campaign sought to attract the widest, most inclusive audience to witness the exhibition and its historical artifacts. Central to the exhibit is a 1944 letter by Robert "Bob" Hanf, written under Nazi censorship, where his words appeared deceptively lighthearted, resembling a postcard from a resort. The challenge was to convey these words with the right tone while maintaining their historical weight. The film uses light as a symbol of knowledge, passing from witness to witness, emphasizing the importance of remembrance to prevent history from repeating itself.
