Catch Me If You Cannes
In an industry obsessed with awards, some will go to any lengths to win, and the new self-promo film “Catch Me If You Cannes” hilariously holds up a mirror to that obsession. The satire opens in a high-security prison where inmates confess to outrageous crimes, culminating with a creative executive admitting to faking an entire case video, leaving even the counsellor appalled. Following the tradition of using self-promo videos to critique industry habits, the film skewers advertising’s obsession with inflated results, fabricated quotes, and over-the-top award submissions, continuing a series of tongue-in-cheek satires that spotlight the profession’s quirks, taboos, and excesses.
