Science can be difficult to understand. That is why the Universe Udenom was created to inspire children and their parents to discover and talk about scientific topics and show the children that science is already a part of their everyday life, without them even knowing it. In connection with the launch of the Videnskabsåret 2022 (Science Year 2022), TV2's Christmas calendar Kometernes Jul was launched. The "Universe Udenom" platform was paired with the Christmas calendar to support the long-term national strategy launched with the Technology Pact and the ABC of Science, which aims to contribute to the science education of children, young people and their families. Derfor blev Universet Udenom skabt for at inspirere børn og deres forældre til at opdage og tale om naturvidenskabelige emner og vise børnene, at naturvidenskab allerede er en del af deres hverdag, uden at de selv ved det. I forbindelse med afsættet for Videnskabsåret 2022 blev startskudet TV2's Julekalender Kometernes Jul. Platformen "Universet Udenom" blev parret med julekalenderen for at støtte den langsigtede nationale strategi, der er lanceret sammen med Teknologipagten og Naturvidenskabens ABC, og som har til formål at bidrage til børns, unges og deres familiers naturvidenskabelige uddannelse Platformen "Universet Udenom" består af forskellige digitale aktiviteter. På websitet, Youtube- og SoMe kanalen kan børn og voksne udforske og fordybe sig i eksperimenter og historier med rigtige videnskabsmænd og skuespillere fra julekalenderen. Derudover udviklede VR og AR produktionsvirksomheden i samarbjede med Videnskabsår22, appen "Videns Port". Her blev børn og voksne introduceret til teknologien Augmented Reality og de kunne med hjælp af denne teknologi scanne deres fysiske julekalender og opleve små animationer, der poppede ud af deres kalender hver dag i december. Disse små animationer visualiserede lidt omkring den pågældende dags julekalender episode, samt fungerede som en form for levende QR kode der ledte brugeren ind på dagens emne som forbandt julekalenderens handling med videnskablige emner, forsøg og andre ting der gjorder videnskabsundervisning interessant og sjovt. Den 20. december lancerede spillet "Rejsen Til Planet 9" inde i appen, som var et Virtual Reality-spil, der lærer børnene om videnskab, mens de løste gåder i det univers, de kendte fra julekalenderen. Alle aktiviteterne i Universet Udenom er designet til at skabe overraskende og engagerende elementer, der gør læringen bedre og mere fordybende. 1.
