Audi plans its first production site in the United States: a plant at the Middle Georgia Mega Site near Perry, Georgia. Announced on 25 October 2026, the project involves an investment of around $4 billion and roughly 4,500 jobs. Construction is due to begin in 2027, with production of premium SUVs built for North American customers planned for the early 2030s and annual capacity of up to 200,000 vehicles. The plant is meant to make North America a third major pillar of Audi's production network, alongside Europe and China. Building from scratch lets Audi design efficient, flexible manufacturing processes and develop a local supplier network, while making the business less exposed to trade and currency risks. Georgia was chosen for its investment-ready site, skilled workforce, established automotive suppliers and logistics infrastructure.
