The Mill collaborated with adam&eveDDB and director Sam Pilling to create a visually stunning commercial featuring a herd of galloping horses on a remote beach, symbolizing Lloyd’s customer service. While 25 real horses were used on set, The Mill’s VFX team seamlessly integrated CG, photoreal horses to enhance the scale and composition. Lead artists Carl Norton and Sam Driscoll emphasized the challenge of making the digital horses indistinguishable from the real ones, utilizing an advanced system in Houdini and Mantra for efficient rendering and simulation. Colourist James Bamford worked closely with the creative team to achieve a warm, inspiring sunrise look, ensuring a seamless blend of VFX and cinematography.
