Created for Royal Air Force by Elvis, “Mission Sport” is the first RAF recruitment campaign to place football at the heart of its message. Timed to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the campaign targets young adults by highlighting the sporting culture that exists alongside military service. Directed by Jesse Lewis-Reece, the film opens like a high-stakes military briefing, with officers gathered around a tactical board, before revealing that the strategy session is actually a football team talk and the personnel are wearing RAF football kits. This unexpected twist reframes perceptions of life in the RAF, showing that sport is not merely a pastime but an important part of the community and experience. Running across video, social, audio, and digital channels, the campaign leverages football’s cultural relevance during the World Cup to connect with a new generation, presenting the RAF as a place where professional ambition, teamwork, and sporting passion can coexist.
