Degrees
Degrees makes it easier to discover future collaborators through those you’ve worked with in the past. It’s a meaningful step toward building a network of trusted, project-based relationships, rather than the casual “connections” typical on other platforms. Your 1st-degree includes people you’ve collaborated with directly, while your 2nd-degree connects you to those who have worked with your 1st-degree, and so on. The outcome is a more transparent and relevant network, linking people through genuine project experience. The project began with establishing a Neo4j graph database, integrating it into our infrastructure, and optimizing it for our use cases. We then updated frontend components and added degree labels beside member names. Degrees also enhance personalized Curated feeds, prioritize Notifications, and will expand into additional features over time.
