Normalize It
The “Normalize it!” campaign spotlighted a critical contradiction in the EU’s School Milk Scheme, which annually serves 160 million liters of cow’s milk to students while simultaneously pushing climate goals that favor plant-based diets. With most citizens unaware of an open consultation to revise the subsidy rules, the campaign—centered around a provocative film—sparked a widespread debate across seven European countries, challenging the norm of milk-only options in schools. As a result, several nations have begun reconsidering their policies, and an EU-wide vote this autumn may pave the way for plant-based drinks to be officially included in school subsidies.
